  2. Predominantly Hyperactive-Impulsive ADHD
  3. Combined ADHD

Predominantly Inattentive ADHD

This type is marked by difficulty sustaining attention, following instructions, and staying organized. People may lose items often and struggle with tasks that require mental effort. It is more common in children and often goes unnoticed because it does not include hyperactivity.

Predominantly Hyperactive-Impulsive ADHD

This type involves frequent fidgeting, talking excessively, and difficulty waiting turns. Impulsive actions may lead to interruptions or risky decisions without thinking about consequences. It is more visible in younger children and can affect classroom and social settings.

Combined ADHD

Combined ADHD includes both inattentive and hyperactive-impulsive symptoms in roughly equal measure. It is the most commonly diagnosed type and often requires a mix of behavioral strategies and support. Symptoms can change over time, so ongoing evaluation helps track progress.
