Who Is Bear Grylls

Bear Grylls is a British adventurer, author, and television presenter born Edward Michael Grylls on 7 June 1974. He served as a British Army reservist and SAS trooper before becoming widely known for survival television. He holds a degree in Hispanic studies from the University of West of England and is a trained parachutist and mountain leader.

Major TV Shows and Expeditions

Grylls is best known as the host of Man vs. Wild, which aired on the Discovery Channel from 2006 to 2011. He has also presented shows such as Running Wild with Bear Grylls, The Island with Bear Grylls, and You vs. Wild. His expeditions include crossing the North Atlantic in an inflatable boat, summiting Everest, and completing a polar expedition in the Arctic.

Books, Business, and Public Roles

Grylls has authored several books, including Mud, Sweat and Tears and Facing Fear. He founded Bear Grylls Ventures, a media and brand company, and has worked with major sponsors in outdoor and apparel sectors. In 2009, he was appointed the youngest Chief Scout of the United Kingdom and Overseas Territories, a role he still holds.
