Bill Murray as Hercules on SNL
Bill Murray appeared as Hercules in a recurring sketch on Saturday Night Live, playing the mythological hero with his signature dry delivery. The segment parodied the Hercules legend by placing the character in mundane, absurd situations, highlighting Murray’s comedic timing and improvisational style.
Plot and Recurring Bits
The sketch typically framed Hercules as a bumbling, reluctant hero who solved problems with sarcasm rather than strength. Murray interacted with guest hosts and cast members, turning simple premises into extended comedic set pieces. The humor relied on deadpan reactions and unexpected twists, a hallmark of Murray’s SNL work.
