Who Is Bill Watterson?
Bill Watterson is the American cartoonist who created the comic strip Calvin and Hobbes, which ran from 1985 to 1995. He is known for his detailed ink work, expressive characters, and strict stance against merchandising his characters.
What Makes Bill Watterson Art Valuable?
Original Calvin and Hobbes strips and paintings are scarce because Watterson rarely sells them. High-quality originals and rare proofs can command significant prices at auction, driven by the strip’s enduring popularity and limited supply.
Where Can You See Bill Watterson Art?
Major museums and galleries have featured Calvin and Hobbes originals in exhibitions. Watterson also authorized select collections, such as The Calvin and Hobbes Tumbleweeds Collection, which are available through official publishers and licensed retailers.
