Original Members and Their Current Status
The classic lineup that defined Motown sound included David Ruffin, Eddie Kendricks, Paul Williams, Melvin Franklin, and Otis Williams. Today, Otis Williams remains the longest-serving member and continues to tour with the group. David Ruffin and Eddie Kendricks both passed away, while Paul Williams died in 1973 and Melvin Franklin in 1995.
Later Lineups and Key Replacements
After the original members departed, The Temptations continued with new singers such as Damon Harris, Richard Street, and Glenn Leonard. Richard Street, a former member of The Monitors, sang with the group for many years before his death in 2013. Current touring members carry on the group's legacy under Otis Williams's direction.
