Do Orcas Eat Great White Sharks
Yes, orcas are documented predators of great white sharks. In multiple observed incidents, orcas have killed and fed on large sharks, including great whites, using coordinated hunting techniques.
Researchers have recorded orcas targeting the fatty livers of sharks, a calorie-rich food source. In some cases, great white sharks have fled entire hunting grounds after orca presence, indicating that orcas are a significant threat.
Evidence includes carcasses of great white sharks found with bite patterns and liver removal consistent with orca attacks. These observations support the conclusion that orcas do eat great white sharks when opportunities arise.
