Early Life and Move to Oklahoma
Ree Drummond grew up in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and later moved to Chicago for college and work. In 1998 she married her high school sweetheart, Leland Drummond, and moved back to his family ranch in Pawhuska, Oklahoma.
Starting the Blog
To stay connected with friends and family, she launched The Pioneer Woman blog in 2006. She began writing about daily ranch life, cooking, and homeschooling, which quickly gained a large readership.
Building a Media Brand
