How Many Eagles Went to the White House
The White House grounds have hosted multiple bald eagles over the years, but there is no single official count of how many eagles went to the White House. Sightings are recorded by the National Park Service and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service when eagles appear on or near the property.
Why Eagles Visit the White House Area
Bald eagles are drawn to the White House because of the nearby Potomac River, open water, and abundant fish. The grounds provide tall trees for perching and nesting, making the area attractive during migration and winter months.
What Officials Say About Eagles at the White House
White House staff and security typically monitor eagle activity to ensure safety for visitors and the birds. When eagles remain on the grounds, officials usually allow them to stay unless they pose a risk to people or property.
