Early Life and Introduction to Basketball
Dennis Rodman was born on May 13, 1961, in Trenton, New Jersey. He grew up in Dallas, Texas, and did not focus seriously on basketball until his teenage years. By the time he reached high school, basketball became his primary sport.
Age When He Began Playing Organized Basketball

Path From High School to College and the NBA
After high school, Rodman attended Cooke County College and then Southeastern Oklahoma State University, where he developed into a dominant rebounder.
