Why Autoplay Starts on Netflix

Netflix uses autoplay to start the next episode or recommended title automatically after playback ends. This feature is designed to keep you watching but can increase data usage and screen time. You can turn it off in your account settings.

How to Disable Autoplay on Netflix

Sign in to Netflix on a web browser at https://www.netflix.com. Hover over your profile icon and select Account. In the Profile & Parental Controls section, choose the profile you want to change. Under Autoplay Controls, uncheck the options for Autoplay next episode in series and Autoplay previews while browsing.

Autoplay Settings on Mobile and TV Apps

On mobile devices, open the Netflix app, tap More, then App Settings. Toggle off Autoplay next episode and Autoplay previews. On smart TVs and streaming devices, settings are usually synced with your web account, so changes made on Netflix.com apply across devices. For detailed steps, visit Netflix Help Center.
