Gather Your Gel Polish Supplies
You need a base coat, color gel, top coat, UV or LED lamp, lint-free wipes, nail prep pads, and cuticle oil. A basic kit is enough for beginners.
Prepare and Apply the Gel Layers
Clean, shape, and lightly buff nails. Push back cuticles, degrease with prep pads, and apply a thin base coat. Cure under your lamp for the time listed on the product. Apply color in thin layers, curing each one. Finish with a top coat and cure again.
Finish and Maintain Your Gel Polish
Wipe the sticky inhibition layer with cleanser or alcohol. Moisturize cuticles, then avoid heavy water and harsh chemicals for the first day. Use a nail sealant or top coat refresh to extend wear.
