Why Was Jimmy Kimmel Live Pulled from Air
ABC temporarily removed Jimmy Kimmel Live from its schedule following public pressure and advertiser concerns over a monologue segment. The decision came after conservative groups and some sponsors criticized comments made by the host about a political figure. ABC stated the move was made to respect advertiser preferences and audience feedback.
When Was the Show Pulled
The show was pulled for one night in September 2023. ABC replaced the scheduled episode with other programming and later announced the return of the regular broadcast. The network did not cancel the series, and the show resumed its normal weekly schedule.
What Happened After the Show Returned
After the break, Jimmy Kimmel Live returned to its regular time slot on ABC. The network continued to air the show with no permanent changes to the format or schedule. Advertisers who paused their support returned, and the show maintained its position in the late-night lineup.
