Early Life and College Career

Wilt Chamberlain was born in Philadelphia in 1936. He grew up tall and athletic, later attending the University of Kansas, where he became a dominant college player and led the Jayhawks to the 1957 NCAA championship game.

NBA Career and Records

Chamberlain played in the NBA from 1959 to 1973 for the Philadelphia Warriors, San Francisco Warriors, Philadelphia 76ers, and Los Angeles Lakers. He scored 100 points in a single game and averaged more than 50 points per game in the 1961–62 season, setting scoring records that stood for decades. Legacy and Later Life
