MCR Drummer Dead: Clarifying the Band’s History
The phrase “MCR drummer dead” often circulates online, but the band’s former drummer, Matt Pelissier, is alive. The confusion typically stems from the departure of original members and the band’s evolving lineup over time.
Original Drummer Matt Pelissier
Matt Pelissier was the founding drummer for My Chemical Romance. He played on early albums before leaving the band in 2010. He was replaced by Bob Bryar, who later became the band’s primary touring and recording drummer for several years.
Bob Bryar and the Band’s Evolution
Bob Bryar joined in 2004 and remained with the band through their most commercially successful period. After My Chemical Romance went on hiatus in 2013, Bryar pursued other projects. The band has not officially reunited with a full original lineup.
