List of Netflix Shows Canceled in 2020
In 2020, Netflix canceled several series after one or two seasons. Notable examples include "The OA" Part II, "I Am Not Okay with This," "October Faction," and "The Society." Some cancellations followed viewership data, production delays from COVID-19, or strategic shifts in content investment.
Why Netflix Canceled These Series
Netflix typically evaluates series based on viewership metrics, production costs, and how well a show fits its long-term content strategy. During 2020, pandemic-related shutdowns delayed production and complicated renewal decisions. For some titles, high costs relative to audience size led to cancellation despite strong fan campaigns.
What Happened After the Cancellations
Fan campaigns sometimes led to shows finding new homes. For example, "The OA" Part II was canceled by Netflix, and its creators later explored other options for the story. Other canceled series remained exclusive to Netflix, with no official continuation announced. Details on future plans are usually shared through studio or network announcements.
