Background and Casting Facts
The original Stranger Things cast was assembled through extensive auditions by casting directors Carmen Cuba and Francine Maisler. Ryder and Harbour brought established experience, while the young leads were chosen for their natural chemistry and ability to convey the show's 1980s tone.
