Original Film and Sequels
The Predator franchise began with the 1987 film Predator, directed by John McTiernan and starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. The story follows an elite team hunted by an alien hunter in a Central American jungle. The sequel Predator 2 arrived in 1990, shifting the setting to Los Angeles and introducing new lore about the predators' behavior.
Reboot and Crossovers
In 2010, Predators offered a rebooted entry that grouped multiple humans on an alien game preserve world. The 2018 film The Predator, directed by Shane Black, attempted to blend humor with the franchise's core action. The crossover film Alien vs Predator (2004) and its sequel Aliens vs Predator: Requiem (2007) expanded the timeline by linking the predator and alien franchises.
