What Is the Slender Man Case

The Slender Man case refers to the 2014 stabbing of a 12-year-old girl in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Two 12-year-old girls attacked their friend, claiming they were trying to prove loyalty to the fictional Slender Man character.

Who Were the Attackers

The attackers were Anissa Weier and Morgan Geyser. They were charged as adults with attempted first-degree intentional homicide. Both were found not guilty by mental disease or defect and were committed to secure mental health facilities.

The victim survived multiple stab wounds and later spoke publicly about trauma and recovery. Weier was released in 2021 after a court review, while Geyser remains in custody. The case drew attention to youth mental health and online influences.
