Spencer and the Boston Marathon
Spencer is a dog associated with the Boston Marathon, a major annual road race in Boston. The event draws thousands of runners and spectators each year, and dogs sometimes appear in official or support roles.
Race Rules for Dogs
The Boston Marathon has strict rules about dogs on the course. Only service animals are generally permitted, and organizers enforce these rules for safety and crowd control. Runners are not allowed to bring pets as part of the race.
Dogs in Marathon Events
Many marathons limit dog access to protect participants and animals. Some events allow dogs in specific sections or as part of charity teams. Rules vary by race, and organizers publish guidelines before each event.
