What Happened in the Tate LaBianca Killings

On August 9, 1969, actress Sharon Tate and four others were murdered at the Cielo Drive home in Los Angeles. The following night, Leno and Rosemary LaBianca were killed in their home. The crimes were committed by members of the Manson Family cult.

Victims and Suspects

Victims included Sharon Tate, who was pregnant, and Abigail Folger, Wojciech Frykowski, Steven Parent, and Jay Sebring at the Tate residence. Leno and Rosemary LaBianca were killed the next day. Charles Manson orchestrated the attacks, and several followers carried out the murders.

In 1971, Charles Manson and several associates were convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to death, later changed to life imprisonment. The case influenced criminal law and popular culture, and remains a widely referenced subject in true crime research.
