Was the Malaysia Flight Found

Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370, a Boeing 777-200ER, disappeared on March 8, 2014, en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing with 239 people aboard. The aircraft has not been recovered intact, and the main wreckage has not been located.

Search Efforts and Findings

An extensive multinational search covered the southern Indian Ocean. In July 2015, a flaperon from a Boeing 777 was found on Réunion Island, later confirmed to be from MH370. Several other pieces of debris, known as MH370 flaperons and objects, have washed ashore on African coastlines and Indian Ocean islands.

Official Reports and Ongoing Investigations

Official investigations, including the Australian Transport Safety Bureau and the Malaysian Ministry of Transport, concluded the flight ended in the southern Indian Ocean. The final report stated the cause remains unknown. In 2024, a new private search was announced by Ocean Infinity, focusing on a revised search area based on drift analysis and satellite data.
