Conrad Murray and Michael Jackson

Conrad Murray was hired as Michael Jackson's personal physician for the "This Is It" concert tour. He treated Jackson for insomnia and pain. Murray administered propofol, a powerful surgical anesthetic, in Jackson's home bedroom.

What Happened on the Day of Death

On June 25, 2009, Murray gave Jackson propofol and benzodiazepines. Jackson stopped breathing. Murray attempted CPR but delayed calling emergency services. Paramedics found Jackson in cardiac arrest. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Conviction and Sentence

In 2011, Murray was convicted of involuntary manslaughter for administering a lethal dose of propofol. He was sentenced to four years in prison. Murray was released in 2013 after serving roughly two years. The case is documented by the Los Angeles County District Attorney.
