Which Flight Hit the Pentagon

Flight 77 was a Boeing 757 traveling from Washington Dulles International Airport to Los Angeles. It was commandeered by hijackers and flown into the western side of the Pentagon building in Arlington, Virginia.

Official Account of the Pentagon Impact

According to the 9/11 Commission Report and the National Institute of Standards and Technology, the aircraft penetrated three rings of the building and caused severe structural damage. The impact and subsequent fire led to partial collapse of that section of the Pentagon. Investigators concluded that the crash killed 184 people on the ground and aboard the plane.
