When Was Halloween in 2025
Halloween 2025 fell on Thursday, October 31, 2025. Like every year, the date is fixed as October 31 on the Gregorian calendar.
Why Halloween Is Always on October 31
Halloween is held on October 31 because it is the eve of the Western Christian feast of All Hallows' Day. This fixed calendar date means the holiday does not shift year to year.
How Halloween 2025 Fits into the Year
In 2025, Halloween came about three weeks before the end of the year and roughly one week before the start of the holiday shopping season. Retailers and planners often use this timing to schedule promotions and inventory around the October 31 date. For more background on the holiday, see History of Halloween.
