Primary Filming Location
Severance was primarily filmed in New York City. Interior office scenes were shot on soundstages and at existing office buildings in Manhattan, giving the Lumon Industries set a sleek, corporate feel.
Exterior and Street Locations
Many exterior shots were filmed on location around New York City, including streets and public areas that stand in for the fictional town surrounding the Lumon office. Production used specific urban and suburban backdrops to create the show's isolated, controlled atmosphere.
Studio and Soundstage Work
Additional filming took place on studio stages and controlled sets designed to replicate the inside of the Lumon office and the severed floor. These indoor sets allowed the production to build the exact office layout seen in the series.
