Primary Filming Locations for Tony and Ziva
The series was primarily filmed in Los Angeles, California. Many interior scenes were shot on soundstages at major studio facilities in the area, while select exteriors used local streets and landmarks to stand in for Washington, D.C. settings.
Specific On-Location Shooting Sites
Production crews filmed exterior sequences at well-known Southern California spots, including beaches, parks, and urban streets that doubled for East Coast environments. Some key action and vehicle scenes were shot on closed public roads and private lots near the studio base.
Studio Work and Controlled Sets
Interior dialogue, office, and interrogation scenes were typically filmed on controlled studio stages, allowing flexible set design and lighting. Soundstages provided consistent acoustics and temperature control, which helped maintain the show’s visual style across episodes.
