Who Is Lacie in The Summer I Turned Pretty
Lacie is a recurring character in the Prime Video series The Summer I Turned Pretty, based on the novel by Jenny Han. She is portrayed as a confident, popular friend of Belly and the other teens at Cousins Beach. The show uses her presence to highlight Belly’s shifting friendships and evolving identity during the summer.
Lacie’s Role in the Story
In the series, Lacie is part of the core friend group that includes Belly, Conrad, Jeremiah, and Taylor. She often appears in beach scenes, parties, and group hangouts, contributing to the social dynamics of the summer. Her interactions with Belly help frame moments of tension, rivalry, and eventual growth as the girls navigate adolescence.
Character Traits and Impact
Lacie is depicted as outgoing, stylish, and socially aware, traits that contrast with Belly’s quieter, more introspective personality at the start of the story. Her presence pushes Belly to confront insecurities and make choices about friendship and self-image. While not the central love interest, Lacie’s actions and reactions support the show’s focus on coming-of-age change.
