Who Is Our Tallest President
Abraham Lincoln is widely recognized as our tallest president. Historical records list his height at about 6 feet 4 inches, making him the tallest commander in chief in U.S. history.
Height Comparison With Other Presidents
Most U.S. presidents have been close to average height for their era. Lyndon B. Johnson and Donald Trump are often cited as tall modern presidents, but both fall several inches below Lincoln’s recorded stature.
Why Lincoln’s Height Is Often Cited
Lincoln’s height is frequently mentioned in biographies and reference materials because it was unusual for his time. His tall frame, combined with his leadership during the Civil War, has made his stature a lasting part of his public image.
