Who Is the Lowest Paid Quarterback in the NFL?
As of the latest NFL collective bargaining agreement and roster data, the lowest paid quarterbacks are typically rookie minimum contracts or players on veteran minimum deals with limited leverage. These salaries are set by the league's collective bargaining agreement and are far below the league average for quarterbacks.
How NFL Quarterback Salaries Are Determined
Quarterback pay is shaped by contract negotiations, draft position, experience, and roster needs. Players on rookie deals earn a fixed salary based on their draft slot, while veterans can earn more through new agreements or franchise tags. Teams sometimes place a quarterback on a minimum contract due to performance concerns or depth plans.
Why Salary Figures Change Year to Year
NFL salary figures shift each season because of new contracts, renegotiations, retirements, and roster moves. A player who was the lowest paid quarterback one year may no longer be on the roster or may have signed a new deal.
