What Is the NFL MVP Award
The NFL Most Valuable Player award recognizes the league's most outstanding player each regular season. The Associated Press selects the winner based on regular-season performance, while the Pro Football Writers of America also names an MVP. The award is decided by votes from media members and writers.
Who Has Won the NFL MVP
Past winners include quarterbacks such as Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, and Patrick Mahomes. Running backs like Jim Brown, Adrian Peterson, and Lamar Jackson have also claimed the honor. The NFL MVP page lists every winner and provides details on each season.
How NFL MVP Voting Works
Voters rank players after each week of the regular season. Points are awarded based on placement, and the player with the highest total wins the award. Criteria include statistical production, leadership, and impact on team success. Voters typically focus on regular-season games, not postseason performance.
