The English Premier League traditionally schedules matches on December 25 and 26. Clubs from across the league face each other in a concentrated set of fixtures, with all 20 teams usually involved over the festive period. The Boxing Day matches on December 26 are a central part of the schedule.
Other Leagues and International Matches
Outside England, La Liga in Spain and the Bundesliga in Germany have also hosted Christmas Day games in certain seasons. National teams occasionally schedule international friendlies or tournament qualifiers on December 25, depending on the FIFA calendar and domestic league arrangements.
