Who Is Ghostface in Scream
Ghostface is the fictional serial killer and primary antagonist of the Scream horror film series. The character wears a black hooded robe and a distinctive rubber mask modeled after the painting "The Scream."
Actors Who Played Ghostface
Multiple actors portrayed Ghostface across the franchise. In the original 1996 film, the role was shared by actors including Skeet Ulrich and Matthew Lillard. Later installments featured Roger L. Jackson as the main voice, with other actors such as Scott Foley, Lance Henriksen, and Tara Reid taking on the physical role in different storylines.
Why Ghostface Became Iconic
Ghostface became iconic because the mask and identity could be worn by different killers in each film, creating fresh threats while keeping the series' horror and satire intact. The character's design and catchphrase, "What is your favorite scary movie?" helped define late 1990s slasher culture. For more details, visit Ghostface on the Scream Wiki.
